Setting off from the Claife Heights on the west side of Windermere lake, DCC members paddled in a variety of craft and head gear up and across the lake towards Windermere Outdoor Adventure Centre. Here we stopped for a chat and a cuppa and were joined by some swimmers that had just got out of the water. It was then back on the water to paddle the last leg of the trip up towards Bowness and a return to the shore for some well earned Quality Street. Thanks go to John for organising the trip. This was a great paddle to finish off 2019.

"As part of the Saturday 1pm Docks Sessions offered recently, members asked about River paddling. Over the past few weeks those members have been learning some new skills at the docks, ready for a getting onto moving water, which happened today at the slalom section of the River Leven.
Everyone did extremely well, moving on from the slow water quite quickly. The day was not without incident, with a couple of people learning about controlling the lean of the boat the wet way, but only after advancing onto the faster water. A big well done to all, and I hope you enjoyed it. The next step is to come and play on a river trip." DCC Coach Andy Longstaff |
