2019.4.21 DCC FAMILY EASTER PADDLE

The DCC Easter family paddle was a great success with many members taking to the water in a variety of craft. Those that chose not to paddle stayed on shore and relaxed. After visiting Wild cat island we ventured across the lake to Crocodile Creek where John demonstrated the art of catching a crocodile much to the amazement of one young member. Once back on shore the younger members and some not so young had great fun looking for the Easter tokens that the Easter Bunnies, Carol and Cari, had hidden with the reward of a chocolate Easter rabbit. DCC's youngest member made her debut at kayaking today as she went out in a kayak with John and her great nana Carol. A brilliant time was had by all who went today. This being so four of the family members that stayed on shore decided they would give paddling a go and caught the bug straight away. Now looking forward to the next family paddle. Thanks go to John for organising it. FULL ALBUM IN GALLERY

2019.4.10 DCC TOURING SEA GROUP

This was the first of the DDC touring Sea trips. We met at Brown howe on a cold but sunny evening. It was great to see some new faces . We went off down to the South end of Coniston then on to Allen Tarn then stopped off for the obligatory brew stop, then up round peel (wild cat) island. Then back to the start.
These trips are great to get out and meet other new and experienced paddlers to check out boats and equipment and new places. I intend to run one at least once a month, so keep a look out for future emails.

2019.4.7 dcc macclesfield

DCC race team competed at Bollington, Macclesfield in the MADCC hasler. Apart from having to wait for the odd barge to go through it was a successful day allround with Teigan making her debut at racing in a Lightning. Lee put up a good fight for first place in his division but was pipped at the post as after keeping neck and neck with one of the other competitors he lost balance just short of the finishing line but as a good sportsperson that he is he just emptied his boat, got back in and finished the race. Everyone won an award today. Well done to all.
