Two groups took to the water on Lancaster canal today setting off from Tewitfield. The “lets have a good chat and look at beautuiful dragonflies “group lead by Fran and the fast group lead by John. After paddling through a lush green carpet to reach Carnforth basin we met up again with the fast team once they had returned from paddling further up the canal. Here we had our lunch before getting back on the water to return. Not only did we see dragonflies as big as helicopters but Fran spotted a black furry creature with a long tail, twice the size of rat, running along the canal bank. A great paddle was had by all
