It was a day of great personal achievement for many DCC members who took part in moving water training on the Crake at Greenodd. Paddlers of all ages new to moving water succeeded in not only paddling on the river but also attempting going over the weir for the first time. One grandmother decided to set a good example to her grandaughters and led the way over the weir to show them there was nothing to fear. Little did they know she couldn't stop her legs shaking. Three young members received their PaddlePower Start certificates off John on completion of that course today. It was one young members 11th birthday so we rounded off the day with a cuppa and a chunk of birthday cake. Chugaboom, Carols van, was a great asset in providing shelter and brews. Thanks go to Andy for organising the event.
